Having specialised as a Chartered Tax Advisor, Richard spent 10 years developing pioneering tax solutions and continues to look after the interests of UK owner managed businesses, their owners and their wider families. He is particularly adept at summarising complex tax legislation in a way that clients understand and there are few who can match his ability to find a creative solution to a problem. This skill for making complicated tax concepts understandable for his clients, was put to good use as he updated and co-authored Tolley’s Tax Planning for Owner Managed Businesses 2020-21.

An authority on demergers and reconstructions, Richard and the tax team have completed transactions for privately owned companies and groups with values between £10m and £100m.
